I will remember this book for quite a while. ‘The Night Book’ by Richard Madeley is a story set in the Lake District back in the 1970’s, where beneath the depths of the lake waits danger and death. Murder, lies and love. All the ingredients for a disaster. I don’t want to give away too much information as when I first started reading it I really had no idea what it was about but that worked out better for me as I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much if I had. I was pleasantly surprised. I also guessed completely wrong about the genre of this book. I suppose you could say it was crime/romance, I don’t usually pick up books that include this sort of story line but in the end I couldn’t put the thing down. I really would recommend this book if you want a simple, easy read which keeps you gripped till the end.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book is that the font was printed a bit large but to be honest that is a silly point so feel free to ignore that.
